Map Guess Privacy Policy.

Map Guess: Geography Puzzle ("Map Guess", "the app") is made by Approud Co., Ltd. ("Approud", "we"). This policy explains what data the app uses and why. We don't run our own servers for the app and we don't ask you to create an account with us.

What stays on your device

Your progress lives on your device: Daily results, streaks, lesson progress, which regions you've mastered, personal bests and settings. If iCloud sync is turned on for the app, Apple stores a copy in your private iCloud database so your other devices can use it. We can't read it.

Game Center

If you're signed in to Game Center, the app submits your Daily scores and best times to Apple's leaderboards, where other players can see them with your Game Center name. If you allow it, the app reads your Game Center friends list to show how your friends did. Apple handles this data under Apple's Privacy Policy. You can play without Game Center.

Purchases

Map Guess Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details. The app checks with Apple whether you have Plus.

Our paywall uses Superwall (Superwall Inc.) to show the Plus offer. Superwall receives information about the device and how the paywall is used (for example, which paywall was shown and whether a purchase started) so we can see which offers work. See Superwall's privacy policy.

Ads

Free players see a small number of ads from Google AdMob. Plus members see none. Google may collect device identifiers other than the advertising identifier (IDFA), approximate location from your IP address, and information about the ads you see, to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. The app doesn't ask to track you across other companies' apps, so it doesn't use the IDFA.

In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws, the app asks for your consent choices before showing ads, and you can change them any time in Me → Privacy choices. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

Analytics

To understand how the game is used and what to improve (for example, which maps people play and whether the Daily is too hard), the app sends usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase (Google): when onboarding finishes, when a round, Daily or lesson finishes (the map, mode, score and time), when a map is opened and when the Plus offer is shown. Firebase also records basic device and app information (app version, device model, OS version, country from the IP address) and an app-instance identifier that is reset if you delete the app. It isn't linked to your name, email or Apple Account, and it isn't used for advertising: the app turns off Analytics' ad features. Session recordings

Outside the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws, the app may record how a session is used (the screens you visit and where you tap, as a low-resolution screen recording) with UXCam (UXCam Inc.), so we can find confusing screens and fix them. Recordings don't include your name, email or Apple Account, the app has no fields for personal data, and Plus members aren't recorded. See UXCam's privacy policy.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules it on your device. Nothing is sent to us.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, we don't build advertising profiles about you, and the app doesn't collect your name, email address, contacts or precise location.

Children

Map Guess is for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes the data on your device. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Game Center scores are managed in your Apple Account.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
